Obed Dominguez is a successful young entrepreneur who was born in a very small village in Mexico called Chihuahua. However, his family migrated to the United States when he was still a kid. He was raised in Los Angeles, California.
After spending years in the state, Obed Dominguez kept his dream of becoming a successful businessman alive. In order to pursue it, he relocated to Las Cruces, New Mexico, in 2009, where he started his new company called “Sunforce Solar.” However, the whole journey of starting a successful company was full of ups and downs.
Mr. Dominguez has always worked in a job that impacts the world. When he left college in May of 2018, he quit his contact center job because he was not satisfied with himself and worked there. He realized that it wasn’t adding value to anyone and felt he wasn’t the right fit for it. That’s when he saw a job opening for solar sales and applied. He was turned down for 3 different sales positions due to his lack of experience in the field. However, luckily he landed a job at a solar firm.
In an interview Obed Dominguez shared,
“I felt that the only door open for me to make money was closed since I got rejected at both places. I came across an advertisement for a solar company hiring sales reps. I called, and they interviewed me and hired me. Literally, I know this was the beginning of something great. I eventually became one of the top salesmen in that market and went to California for an opportunity with a different solar company. Tall buildings inspire me, so I drove to California in a heartbeat,”

It’s weird because even though he was doing business, marketing, selling, canvassing – all those things a business owner must think about – it still didn’t click until one day, out of nowhere; boom: realization! Obed Dominguez realized that he didn’t just want to make money but to do the impossible things and leave a legacy behind.
“My motivation is to make a positive impact on the environment using our solar solutions. Yes, there were challenges while starting the business in terms of lack of support of a team, good healthy mindset, and lack of set plan. But with a positive attitude, we created a strong team that provides the best solar solution to our customers following a process created per a customer’s requirement.” stated Obed Dominguez.
Challenges:
The journey of launching a solar company was not a road full of roses. The young entrepreneur, Obed Dominguez, faced several challenges, and one of the biggest ones was to persuade the customers and clients to do business with him despite being a young boy. Due to his young age, he struggles to get business as people wouldn’t take him seriously and don’t want to risk their business or project by partnering up with Sunforce Solar, which is founded and run by such a young individual. However, despite the obstacle, Obed Dominguez stayed determined and overcame it by turning that obstacle into a driving force to incorporate a successful and efficient sales team which he successfully did.

“My advice to those wanting to start a business is for them to ask themselves why they want to start a certain type of business.
