On November 15th, thousands of individuals from the Shincheonji Church participated in an online prayer event prior to the group’s large plasma donation by 4,000 recovered members.
While the COVID-19 pandemic persists, the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony arranged an international online event to pray for all frontline workers and the swift end of COVID-19 as many researchers and governments are working hard to prevent further suffering. In consideration of the growing infection rates, the Chairman Lee Man-Hee hosted this online meeting to gather hearts all across the world to boost morale and assurance for a better future. Four thousand of the congregation members are scheduled to willingly participate in a large group plasma donation to help advance the efforts of developing a vaccine.
A member of Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, “Ahead of the third group plasma donation in which 4,000 fully recovered members are planning to participate, we are praying all together for a quick vaccine development and for COVID-19 to end. We will do everything we can and act responsibly until the pandemic ends.”
Yet, this event was not limited to only Shincheonji Church member but any person of faith was also invited to attend and pray in this third Global Prayer Service of Religious people on November 15th. At 3PM on Sunday, the prayer event was held as a live broadcast on the Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ official YouTube channel for those who wished to join and also desired for the end of COVID-19. The plasma donation by 4,000 fully recovered congregation members demonstrates the church’s ability to work together in times of hardship for the benefit of others. With a heart of kindness and compassion, Chairman Lee prayed for an effective and quick development of a vaccine so the pandemic may end.
Shincheonji Church’s large international event moved the hearts of thousands and revealed humanity’s ability to care for one another transcends different denominations and religions.
Chairman Lee remarked on the current pandemic situation and expressed his sentiments: “Too many people are suffering because of COVID-19, especially with those who were infected in church last February that caused distress to the members and the citizens. We should actively put in our effort and pray to God for the country, the people, and for the pandemic to end. I urge every person of faith around the world to also gather their hearts and pray so the whole world can come out of the suffering caused by this plague.”
Shincheonji Church continues to emphasize following safety and prevention methods as they carry out its services online out of interest of keeping the community safe. Ever since February 18th, the church has been faithful in instructing members to obey the government mandates on quarantine to prevent further spread of the virus. Furthermore, the church also sets aside time during service to pray for the pandemic to end and for the health and safety of the government health officials, medical staff, and patients.
Shincheonji’s commitment to making every effort to help bring an end to the pandemic is serving as a beacon of hope to people all across the world. As cases of infection are continuing to rise, Shincheonji’s prayers and plasma donation come at a pivotal time and are accepted with grateful hearts.
