Enesse made noise in the music industry beginning with his collaboration with the Justice League in 2015, most notably after being a writer on Rick Ross’ single, Thug Cry, featuring Lil Wayne. On the heels of the collaboration, he went on to release singles like Just Like Me and Focused, which amassed over 1 million streams across music platforms including Spotify. In an unexpected move, Enesse walked away from the American music scene, dropping a brand new single, Chez Moi. Though the song is in French, it’s resonated with listeners all over the world with its hypnotizing melodies. Surprising even to Enesse, who came to the US with aspirations of becoming a solo artist, his appreciation for making music led him right back to his native language. In a recent interview he mentioned that he now wants to make music that truly resonates with him and reaches people on a deeper, more meaningful level. With Chez Moi, specifically, which talks about his experience being an expat in the US, he aimed to tell a unique story and become a voice for people living through similar experiences.
In his latest single, Enesse takes us on his personal journey leaving his native Brussels, Belgium at a young age and reaching a point where nowhere feels like home— “except next to you,” as the lyrics explain. The journey of leaving home and trying to make a home in another country led him to his now girlfriend, Youtuber Teni Panosian, who has become his “home.”
When asked if he’ll ever return to making music in English, Enesse says, “I still consider making American music in the future, but for now I want to focus on my French project. I wants to be the artist that makes French music International the way Latin artists like as J Balvin or Rosalia did with Spanish music.”
