In the current era of digital business, success is “ripe for the picking” for anyone with the drive to pursue their dreams. Reco Jefferson forged his own path as an e-commerce expert and now shares on his journey into the life of an entrepreneur.

Reco Jefferson is a former serviceman, software engineer, and serial entrepreneur. He was born in McComb, Mississippi, but spent his teenage years in Jersey. Coming from a humble background, he had a healthy appreciation for hard work and dedication drilled into him early on. Those qualities have served him throughout his life, including his time in the military. He was an Air Force veteran, honorably serving four years of active duty before earning a degree from Penn State University and working as a software engineer in the public sector.

Although Reco had always been in love with Tech, tinkering with devices for hours on end in his youth, he was eventually drawn to the dynamic world of e-commerce and its promised freedom.

“I loved developing mobile applications and innovative new software. My job as a software engineer in the defense industry was fulfilling for a while, but my ambitions changed as I started to dive deeper into the world of e-commerce,” he shared. “I heard about other people making money online, and I figured with all of my computer knowledge and experience, why can’t I do the same?” So, in a bold move, he left his software engineering job with the government, venturing into the world of online entrepreneurship.

Far from being a fairy tale, success did not come easy, and Reco has never shied away from revealing how hard he had to work. He started out in e-commerce with a meager $3.67, spending years learning the best strategies and selling on platforms like eBay and Craigslist before eventually going into drop-shipping with Amazon.

“I was tired of hunting down free or inexpensive items to resell,” Reco stated. “I wanted my business to make money faster, and Amazon provided the best platform.” Once again, the discipline and hard work honed through the years helped him grow his business into a seven-figure enterprise within six years.

Presently, Reco Jefferson is known within certain circles as the “drop-shipping terminator,” launching RoughNecks—an e-commerce Bootcamp—and teaching over 700 students how to drop-ship with precise strategy, training, and hands-on guidance. In addition, he runs successful marketplace automation businesses on Amazon and Facebook. Reco maintains that consistency and dedication are more significant factors than choosing the right product when it comes to online business.

“Start by doing the little things right the first time. Don’t try to skip the process. Focus on perfecting your systems,” he explained. “You’re not going to be an expert in one day. No one is. When you take care of your clients and customers, they will let others know, and your business will flourish.”

Recently, the tenacious entrepreneur has branched out into the real estate industry. He shared, “During my time in the Air Force, I recognized that real estate was a great way to be able to build a long-term, stable, and passive income. So, with the income from my drop-shipping business, I have been steadily buying up rental properties.” In a little over a month, Reco purchased ten single-family homes with plans to double that number before the end of the year.

There is more than one route to success, and Rico Jefferson is a shining example that anything is achievable if one is willing to put in the work. He hopes to expand his real estate holdings into over 100 properties in the coming years while simultaneously increasing his e-commerce business clientele.
