While the coronavirus pandemic has had an adverse effect on everyone’s life, some people have utilised the process of social distancing in a very productive way. With work from home and lockdown coming into the picture, people throughout the world had no option but to adjust to the situation.

Though it wasn’t easy, everyone tried to be their productive best. Dewayne Kennemer aka WayneOnBeat too made the most out of his lockdown phase by connecting more and more people digitally.

Dewayne aka WayneOnABeat is an American record producer and the man behind the success of a production team named Street Empire. Dewayne who belongs to the entertainment industry found it very difficult initially to deal with the whole work from home scenario. Not being able to step out of the house and travel had put a stop to his increasing network base.

Taking the whole situation positively, Dewayne started building his network through social platforms and eventually began to enjoy the process.

Talking about the same, he says, “When COVID hit and shut the world down it was a curse and a blessing at the same time. I was unable to get into studios, unable to travel and network with folks. As most of you know, most relationships are built in person in the music industry. However, with everyone working from home, it allowed me to connect with more people online because everyone was stuck working on their computer or their phones with not much to do. I took full advantage of connecting with folks on Instagram, Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter and was able to land a placement with Caskey(Change of Plans) and $teven Cannon(Girls, Girls, Girls)”.

He further adds, “If COVID taught me anything, it was the ability to think outside of the box and understand you don’t HAVE to be in the room to make a connection with someone. It’s truly about who you’re reaching out to and the timing of that connection”.
