Vidyasagar University is a government university located in West Midnapore and it is currently one of the renowned universities in the country. The university was established back in the year 1981 and is therefore named after a social reformer, scholar and philosopher – Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar. 

The distance education courses offered by the university are praised by many and in this article we are sharing information regarding the distance education MBA courses offered by the university. 

Duration of the courses offered

The distance education courses offered by Vidyasagar University runs for a period of 2 years. The course period is similar to any other universities offering MBA courses.

Types of courses offered

The courses that are offered by the university are listed below:

  • MBA in Human Resource
  • MBA in Marketing 
  • MBA in Finance 

Apart from these courses, the university also anticipates introduction of other specialized courses like hospitality, retail, logistics, supply chain management and much more. 

All these courses are offered in English medium. 

Fee structure of the university

The fee structure of the courses offered by Vidyasagar University is around INR 64,800. The fee structure is for two years and is inclusive of application fee for the course. Interested students need to pay  the course fee in cash and it is only submitted at UCO bank. If you are not comfortable in paying the amount in cash, you can also issue a demand draft from any nationalized bank for study center. The demand draft should be issued in the favor of the directorate of distance education of Vidyasagar university.

Accreditation of the university

Vidyasagar University is accredited by UGC and recently NAAC re-accredited the university with grade “A”. The UGC is one of the most important institutes in the country that accredits only the best universities in the country.  

How to take admission?

Interested students can take admission for distance education courses by downloading the application form available on the official website of the university. Alternatively, students can also collect the application forms available at the University’s cash counter. It is necessary to attach all necessary documents with the application form. 

The documents that are needed are listed below:

  • Admit card and marksheet of class 12 and 10.
  • An application form with passport size photo signed by the applicant.
  • Qualification degree for specific course.
  • Certificates of special categories (optional)
  • Date of birth certificate
  • Required medical certificates

Eligibility for the course

For studying a distance MBA course from the university, the student should be a graduate from any recognised universities in the country.

Review

This university is perfect for students looking for global exposure. The university offers great distance educational courses at a very affordable price range. However, the downside is that the university does not offer any campus drive for its students. Also, the courses offered by the university are very common however these courses are specifically in demand these days.
