As we all know, life is a race in which we come across many hurdles. At these moments, we can either choose to give up or cross these hurdles to get where we want to go. Many people tend to give up mid-way because they do not have the courage or motivation to continue, but some don’t – and these are the people who are able to achieve whatever they lay their eyes on. Steven Mayer is a perfect example of this.
Born to a blue-collar family, Steven was an ordinary child who always wanted to be a police officer. However, in his early life, Steven stumbled upon a book, Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and this book changed his entire perspective above work and life in general. Steven’s focus shifted towards becoming an entrepreneur instead of a police officer. As soon as he realized this, he quit his 9-5 job and started working on building his own business from scratch.
Unfortunately, things didn’t turn out to be in Steven’s favor and before he knew it, he was back in the job world as his failing business couldn’t pay his bills. He took up a job in a sales office and was offered the position of Vice President within months. At this point, Steven was earning a six-figure salary, however, he felt that something was missing. “I felt like there was a void that no amount of money in the world could fill,” Steven said while recalling his early days.
Deep down, he was aware that he was not completely satisfied with his job and wanted to give his dream of becoming an entrepreneur another shot – all he needed was a little push. This push came in the form of an old friend of Steven, who told him how he’s making more than $300K a month through Amazon. Steven was intrigued by this idea, and decided to pursue it. Once again, he failed. However, he did not give up.
Steven kept trying again and again, and one day his efforts finally paid off. Steven found a new way of product research which no one had talked about earlier. He applied that method to his Amazon business and succeeded. He made $15K in the first month, which increased to $200K at the beginning of the second year. After failing, Steven had finally achieved success. “People get shocked when I tell them I failed 26 times before I could finally establish a successful business. Some even think that I’m lying to make myself popular, but that is never what it was really about,” says Steven.
After Steven became successful, he decided to share his success stories in multiple Facebook groups. Consequently, he was approached by many people who were struggling to start their own business. Steven started helping these people on a 1-on-1 basis, but soon these individual sessions turned into coaching groups of 5 and later 10. After this, Steven found the FBA Freedom Hackers Academy, an online academy through which Steven offers coaching and counseling sessions to people from all over the world.
Steven is also the CEO of Valiant Consultants, one of the very few firms in the U.S that offer Amazon automation services. The business came into being after Steven’s business became successful and he partnered with other individuals to start a partnership. He also hired a small team and taught them everything from scratch. Currently, Valiant Consultants is one of the top firms of America offering automation services.
Steven’s life is a perfect example of never losing hope. Had he not pushed himself harder after every failure, he would have been stuck in the rat race of life like many others – doing something he never wanted to do. His story is an inspiration for everyone.
