A new mobile app has been launched by the US Embassy and US-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) in order to offer Indian students comprehensive, current as well as precise information related to the various opportunities offered by US higher education.
The app, which can be downloaded on iOS as well as Android platforms for free, will be a checkpoint for parents, students, school counsellors as well as others who wish to get more information in the field of education in the US but do not know from where they should begin.
The mobile app was unveiled on Wednesday, on the occasion of Student Visa Day which celebrates the higher education relations between the US and India.
Almost 1,000 students were welcomed by Consulate General in Chennai to carry out visa interviews. Later, just a limited no. of South Indian students as well as their parents came for a celebration conducted at the American Center, Chennai. They were presented with student visas by Consul General Robert Burgess.
Consul General Burgess congratulated the students as well as parents that took such a life-turning decision of pursuing higher education in accredited academic institutions in the US, which are enriched with different educational programs.
Notably, Indian students pursuing studies in the US represent the 2nd biggest foreign nationality pursuing studies in the US, accounting for 17.9% of all the international students.
