The pandemic has taken companies all across the United States on a rollercoaster ride, and has majorly screwed up plenty, while making sales teams wonder what to do next. Well, while some companies may be playing around and trying old tactics that are just outdated in this new COVID-19 world, Rose Garden Consulting, which is led by CEO Ali Mirza, has found a new approach to consulting businesses in this day and age.
Instead of using stuff that may have worked years ago, Ali and his team’s approach is the “no BS” type. They are not focused on “logical” “fact-based”, “data-Driven” solutions, but instead focus on how people make decisions, and are rooted in Behavioral Economics. They analyze a company’s sales team and help to improve communication within the team and help them better understand how they should sell based on their own blindspots.
We sat down exclusively with Ali to learn more about his approach and why it is helping companies across America to not only get through this pandemic, but also scale into the millions.
1. You have helped other businesses during the pandemic, but what strategies has Rose Garden Consulting been doing to succeed during these times?
At RGC, we doubled the level of support that we have been providing our clients. Half of all growth and success comes from not losing the deals that you worked so hard to acquire in the first place. Specifically, with what we do, our clients can only pay us if the work we are doing is materializing. When it gets hard, we just have to work harder. We couldn’t continue to operate at the same level if the playing field had changed, so as our clients had to work twice as hard, we met that head on and matched the intensity.
2. What is a typical day like for the team at RGC?
For the most part, it consists of meetings with clients, project work on deliverables for clients, and internal strategy and planning to develop new strategies so we can constantly evolve the solutions we provide to our client base.
3. How do you select who is going to work as an employee / consultant on your team at RGC? What qualifications must they have?
We have a very rigorous hiring process that vets for grit, aptitude, creativity, role alignment and overall desire to win. Effectively we try to root out the individuals who are not prepared to win because we don’t believe in moral victories, every employee here has to be prepared to win at all costs (ethically).
4. What types of new clients have you been taking on?
We are becoming more and more selective of the clients we take on, however, the clients that we do work with are organizations that are growth minded, have great market potential, and aren’t afraid of change.
5. What trends in the online business marketplace overall have you been seeing?
There has been a greater push to go remote for obvious reasons, but the desire to stay remote is growing. In a competitive landscape, over the next 18 months the organizations that choose to come back to the office in a safe manner will be the ones with the upper hand and the most leverage.
6. Why do companies need consultants?
Nobody needs a consultant, but everyone needs an objective third party opinion. The problem is most in your inner circle know less than you having the most expensive house on the block isn’t always the best situation. Surrounding yourself around people that can tell you when you are right and when you are wrong is invaluable. Sometimes, those people happen to be consultants.
7. With your recent expansion, what are you most looking forward to now for the rest of 2021?
Being able to support organizations across the country at a greater level than we could before. This will increase our impact on the market and ultimately allow us to achieve our vision of changing the way sales are made.
8. Why is RGC proud to help serve Americans and help America get back on track?
In my experience, Americans are more growth oriented and less risk averse. The American Dream is built upon doing more for yourself, for your family, and for your community. That comes through building a bigger business. Our services go hand in hand with business owners that have this growth mindset.
