Tate Simms hails from Manhattan, New York. Growing up, he exposed himself to various categories of music. Music readily became his greatest passion, and he learned how to play the guitar, bass, and drums. Tate can also sing and has put his vocal work into play with his original music.
At the age of sixteen, Tate started his professional career in music. He entered college for a time but later exited upon realizing that he wouldn’t follow a traditional path. He would go all in on music and start studying various genres of music. Later, the musician would create Tate Simms Productions, an all-encompassing music company that publishes original music for various audiences. Tate Simms would play with some of the world’s biggest musical stars and direct music for multiple tours. He also started writing original music, including working on film soundtracking.
Through his music company, Tate started a discography of tracks that showcased Tate’s technical musicianship and dynamism. He launched his first album in 2010 called Romantic Holiday. The record includes songs like “Mystic,” “What Can I Do,” “I Call U Up,” “Enough is Enough,” “It Started So Right,” “I’ll Never Forget You,” “Irresistible Charm,” “Your Love Songs,” “My Friend,” “Almost There,” and “100 Days.” “Romantic Holiday” also includes the karaoke versions of most of the record’s hard-hitting songs. In 2012, Tate Simms Productions launched a second album, Feel It. The album features songs including “Dreamin Bout Cha,” “Wake Up,” “Something 2 Say,” “I’m Not Afraid,” “Matter of Trust,” “Holiday,” “It’s Physical,” “Wall 2 Wall,” and “Make A Stand,” among others.
Tate Simms is a musician that stands out. His well-rounded style of music and understanding of multiple genres makes him a strong accompaniment and an even better front act. While he loves and enjoys existing music, he never lets set genres limit his creative process. Tate loves to experiment with various sounds and styles.
Tate Simms Productions also does work heavily around film and television. The company has a full-service music library of sound beds for movies and shows of different categories. Tate can create any sound, from melancholic ones to happy ones. He can help build both inspiration and suspense through his track work. Tate has worked on soundtracks for large productions, including Why Him? starring actor Bryan Cranston, and Unstoppable, featuring the Oscar winner Denzel Washington. Tate also spent time in Germany as a head writer for the nationally acclaimed German television show Süss und Lecker.
Tate has played with many musical celebrities, including Christina Aguilera, Joe Cocker, Mary Wilson of The Supremes, Globus, and Latoya Jackson. He’s played other big acts with Sheryl Crow, Curtis Blow, Orin “Juice” Jones, and Spencer Davis. Tate also appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show as a back up for Lisa Marie Presley.
Recently, Tate Simms Productions has released a new single “Make It Easy,” featuring up-and-coming artist Eleyana Estrada. Tate has also written and released a song called “VOTE,” which addresses the country’s heated political climate by motivating people to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
