Atilio Spaccarotella and his co-founder Gustavo Lindenberg after winning a pitch competition in NYC
When people travel, health security must be in the catalog of necessities. There are inevitable harms that go along with traveling across countries. Hence, everyone needs to equip themselves with health arsenals to travel without reservations. Under unfamiliar territories, many struggle to find the right place to go or the type of insurance to avail or local hospitals to contact. Recently, the pandemic has substantially escalated the need for healthcare concerns and updates. Enter Rene, a company that offers 360-degree middleman health services for its clients.
Founded by Atilio Spaccarotella, Rene was created out of an incident that he experienced during one of his vacations. The cost of Atilio’s hospitalization after a scuba diving accident was immense, and he struggled to pay for it at the time. Coupled with the inappropriate type of health insurance, the experience traumatized Atilio, and it still gives him anxiety attacks until today. Driven by the motivation to prevent other travelers from experiencing the same misfortune, he created Rene.
The company makes available a wide variety of health insurance appropriate for different countries. When the need arises, local emergency numbers are available together with a catalog of hospital care services that address specific concerns. Travelers receive current news and developments within the country they are traveling to and provide consultations with a doctor through phone or chat, 24/7. Back home, their employers or even their loved ones get updated about the whereabouts of travelers through their real-time location feature. The well-rounded approach of the company towards the safety of its clients makes Rene one of the leading travel service firms.
Before Rene, Atilio founded two other technological companies, ZDG Consulting, and GTN Medical. The companies are fruits of his ingenuity and their long-standing friendship and partnership with Gustavo Lindenberg. They founded ZDG Consulting when Atilio was only 17. ZDG is a software development company that aids in opening streams of income for firms by automating their operations. The connections they have established in over a year opened their eyes to an inferior healthcare appointment system.
The duo then conducted a study and revolutionized the Argentinian appointment method via a 24/7 telephone booking system. The system Atilio and Gustavo devised alleviated the problems of health establishments as they were short of staff and the patients had to wait for hours to get an appointment from practitioners. Their innovation caught on to a portion of the Argentinian population and eventually wounded up getting the attention of the Mexican government.
Atilio and Gustavo pitched their business in a competition that could earn them equity-free money and support from the Mexican government through the National Institute of Entrepreneurship. The geniuses behind GTN Medical went on to win the pitching event and stayed to lead the company for more than three years.
Their success would continue as they founded Rene, with a software development expert on board, Hugo Martinez. The trio works with top tier insurance companies to provide excellent health services that assure maximum benefits to employees-on-travel.
Aside from this, Atilio actively engages in platforms like Connected Heroes and conducts mentorship sessions with young entrepreneurs. He desires to make a mark and leave a legacy of collaboration and change for all.
