Monica’s home life suffered as well, and throughout her teenage years she battled depression and eating disorders. Despite all the odds against her, Monica persevered and obtained a bachelor’s degree in education.
After pursuing a career in education for a little over a year, Monica realized her career was not as fulfilling as she had once imagined it to be. Monica then decided to pursue a career in business and began working in business development for various companies. Monica gained success in the business realm and her entrepreneurial spirit led her to opening her very own nail business. Although Monica thrived as a business developer, business owner, and was very accomplished in both roles, her lingering dream of becoming a model remained present. Modeling was something Monica’s mother had never approved of nor encouraged, but in 2014, Monica decided to move to the United states and pursue her dreams of becoming a model.
With the rapid growth of social media and platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat gaining popularity, Monica decided to strategically grow her social media followings, something she believed would lead to potential opportunities in her modeling career. With consistency and hard work, Monica has amassed a following of nearly a million fans. She emphasizes the importance of staying positive and patient during the beginning stages of pursuing a goal.
