Meet Plant Mother, a New Skincare Brand Behind 100% Vegan Vitamin C and Retinol Serums

There’s a new player on the clean beauty scene – Plant Mother, a 100% organic, vegan skincare brand. Plant Mother is quickly gaining a loyal following of women who prioritize their health and love that this fast-growing skincare line is all-natural and chemical free. Plant Mother’s Vegan Vitamin C and Retinol Serums are becoming increasingly popular in the clean beauty world. The brand’s luxurious, sustainable packaging is elegant and the fresh, earthy scent of each of the products begs to be sampled.

A passionate plant mom and a vegan beauty expert, Plant Mother’s founder, Jena Joyce, turned to skincare after a personal health crisis made her pause and evaluate all of the toxins that surrounded her – and her healthy farm-fresh brand was born.

How did you start Plant Mother?

A few years ago, I had a cancer scare. While going through lab tests, I started making immediate steps to improve my health: I cleaned my diet, lifestyle and beauty routine. Then, I started searching for completely healthy skincare with 100% organic ingredients. The best I was able to find were brands with 60-65% organic ingredients.

That’s when I decided to create a 100% organic, safe, nutritious and healthy skincare line; a true skin food packed with precious ingredients. I wanted to make the best product for myself, and it needed to comprise the cleanest organically grown components that’d boost my skin as much as my overall health. That’s how PLANT MOTHER was born. Our serums are beyond clean and beyond green – they’re free of chemicals, packed with pure botanical nutrients, antioxidants and multivitamins. I like to say that PLANT MOTHER is on a mission to detoxify beauty and deliver the highest-quality skincare to health-conscious women. And it does that while respecting the environment.

What’s your favorite product from the Plant Mother line?

That’s like a mother having to single out one child – never easy! I love to start my mornings with Plant Mother Vegan Vitamin C Serum. It is a fresh, botanical food for skin. This formula adds light moisture, lots of nutrients and also provides refreshing antioxidant action throughout the day with the powerfully rejuvenating combination of vitamin C, E and folic acid. It’s made with Kakadu plum that has 55 times more vitamin C than oranges. It infuses skin with antioxidant protection, restoring elasticity and brightness.

For during the night, my favorite is Organic Plant Based Retinol Serum. The aromatic experience of this serum is earthy, deep, fresh – like a garden of lush flowers in the tropics. It is incredibly nourishing and formulated to deeply feed the skin overnight. This serum is packed with vitamin A and carotenoids from bakuchiol, sea buckthorn, rosehips and over 20 more antioxidants, hundreds of nutrients and essential fatty acids. With just a few drops, your skin will feel moisturized and thoroughly fed.

Organic and natural skincare typically comes at a higher price point, which is true for your brand as well. Why does clean beauty costs more?

Can you put a price on your health? I don’t think so. When we criticize fast fashion and fast beauty for the dangerous and toxic impact they have on people, animals and the planet, we don’t think about how expensive it is to produce fresh, high quality, sustainable skincare. Luckily, there’s a growing number of customers who understand and appreciate those things and are willing to pay for the real deal. Lots of women are advocating for clean beauty through Plant Mother’s brand ambassador program.

What is the most enjoyable aspect of your job?

The best part of my job is waking up every morning knowing that we’re not just making another facial serum — we’re making products that improve people’s lives and health. Because the products we develop are so loved, I feel compelled to keep innovating and crafting the healthiest and greenest skincare.
