In times like this- in the season of the global pandemic, the travel became nil. In the year 2020, when the world shut down, people were forced to be confined in their houses. Medical authority, government, and public servants dedicate their day and night to save the citizens of this globe from this deadly virus. Another profession that came in much more demand after the upsurge of the virus was of an Artist. People being at home, started spending more time online or exploring the art- be it, movies, books, poetry, or photography. Visual images became a great source of recreation. Many new artists surfaced, photography garnered a huge audience. One such photographer who rose to fame is Ivan Wong.
Ivan, who is a graduate of the university of southern California, moved to NY to pursue consulting management as his career. But his passion for photography grew so, alongside his job, he started experimenting with the camera. Ivan comes from low-income households, where it was hard to make ends meet. But his passion never held him back and as soon as he got the job, he bought a camera with his savings. After that, there was no looking back. He started posting pictures he had taken on Instagram and over 3 years he gained 130k people as his followers. As a self-taught rising photographer, he has established his name in the industry with his inception style photos, light trail photography, and colorful portraits.
It said that artists are created and not born. This photographer certainly proves this by pursuing his passion even though he had to face a lot of hurdles.”Photography is an outlet to hone my creativity outside of consulting, which is driven more by numbers and facts whereas I can be abstract with photography,” Wong said, “It has many categories, and each requires a different set of eyes and skills. While fundamentals are common, it’s also important to grow tailored skills in these areas,” he adds.
His popularity grew with time due to his impressive1 content, and he started getting commendations from other brands like Audi, Razer, Gillette, DJI, and more.
Given his accomplishments and participation in the scope of contemporary photography, Wong is well known for many of his remarkable records. He produced artwork for Dua Lipa in “Alita: The Battle Angel”, filmed the music video from the ‘Continuum’ album, ‘Tidal,’ for Shook, created the cover art for “Lace-up” and “Empire” by Wengie, and co-produced the music video for JVNA’s “I’m With You,” among others.
