Towing a path less traveled is not a common choice, but it can be inspiring to see a young person dedicated to pursuing their dreams and putting everything into making those dreams come to life. Ignacio Suárez “Cacho” fell in love with art as a young boy and has evolved over the years achieving success in the fields he has chosen. He combines his experience and expertise with oil paintings, digital art, animation, big scale murals and apparel design to become a highly sought-after tattoo artist.
The tattoo artist from Mexico City is based in Los Angeles and works at one of the world’s most famous tattoo shops, The California Dream Tattoo, a celebrity tattoo shop in LA. He specializes in single needle/fine line tattoos. Since he started working professionally three years ago, Cacho has worked with many celebrity clients like Nicole Williams English, Sophia Culpo, Katee Sackhoff, Tiffani Thiessen, Candace Bure, Stephen Boss, Joel de León, Victor Webster, and many more. His work has also featured in notable tabloids like US Magazine, Page Six, and People Magazine, thus capturing the attention of many people all over the world. He also gets clients from different parts of the world who wish to experience his expertise.
Cacho believes strongly in connecting with people and significantly impacting their lives. This spurred him to enter the tattoo world because he understands that many people get tattoos based on the things they love, or that mean a lot to them. Thus, falling in love with the craft happened naturally, and it has enabled him to apply that purpose notably. “I love the craft because it brings me closer to people that appreciate art and the craft of details. Many people interested in tattoos have deeper meanings beyond just a ‘drawing’ on their bodies. My craft is my art, and anyone that appreciates it the same way I do will always be welcome to sit in my chair,” Cacho said.
Beyond drawing tattoos, Ignacio Suárez’s creative abilities enable him to apply his skills in different areas like architecture, clothing, photography, animation, illustration, and more. His ability to branch into multiple fields that entail vision and design has helped his personal brand and, ultimately, his identity as an artist.
As someone who has drawn since he was a kid, he connects deeply to the stories behind every creation he brings to life. “I’m glad I chose to make people my canvas and experience a deep connection with people I knew nothing about until they sat in my chair. I derive joy in hearing their stories, and creating something special just for them, sometimes to help heal some pain they’ve been through, and other times to engrave a memory that puts a smile on their faces. Each person’s story is unique, and I’m humbled that I get to connect with so many amazing individuals every day,” he said.
With the level of success he has attained in the last few years, Cacho hopes to inspire every young person to follow a journey they enjoy being on. He believes that everyone is responsible for their path, and while they enjoy life, they should also do things that bring them happiness. “Go out and explore, find something that moves you from deep inside and go for it. Life is short and long at the same time. It is short enough to embrace each day as your last and long enough to suffer doing what you don’t love. So make the right choice always,” he said.
