Some people know they’re destined for something more. And in those moments, the glimpse of a different life can come in little flashes of inspiration.
For Dan Henry, it came when he was a young man working at a Guitar Center in the small town of Spring Hill, Florida. A customer came in and asked the kid behind the cash register for help buying a microphone. Unfortunately for that cashier, he didn’t have a lot of experience with audio equipment.
However, Henry did. His expertise was hardly at a professional level, but Henry knew enough about the microphones to make a recommendation to the customer.
Soon afterward, the customer hired Henry to help him set up some digital recording equipment as well. And in that moment, Henry had an experience that he would use later: he knew that for many people, knowledge is power. And it’s something worth buying.
From the Very Bottom—To the Very Top
Things weren’t always going so well for Henry. He initially created an online course, spending “three months of my life and $10,000,” according to Henry. The result? Only a few sales. And after a poor choice in investment, Dan found he owed the IRS $250,000 in back taxes.
At this stage, Henry was broke. He and his wife had to resort to selling bottled water on the street, just to keep the lights on.
The good news was that Henry’s bearings in the world of online course creation (as well as moonlighting as a promoter for a bar and nightclub) still laid the foundation for a life that went beyond mediocrity. Determined to adjust his plan and not settle for the mediocrity in which he was stuck, Henry found opportunity in running online promotions.
“I started learning everything I could about web design,” said Henry. Studying issues like search engine optimization in his spare time, he set about creating a digital marketing agency.
However, it wasn’t just this experience that would make him a millionaire. Henry thought back to his experience at the Guitar Center, and how readily a customer was willing to spend money to learn something valuable for his time.
Henry asked himself a simple question. If he could earn money doing something as simple as teaching a customer how to use audio software, what else did people want to learn?
Rather than implementing a system for his individual marketing clients, Henry decided to share his knowledge. This would create a more scalable business that could grow much more quickly than offering individual consultations. Over the next three years, Henry creates an online education business that soon ballooned to $10 million in revenue. Just recently, over the summer, seats to one of his mastermind programs made $1 million in a single day.
Why Refusing to Settle Was the Difference in Henry’s Life
It’s been a long journey for Henry, but it all settles on one theme: his continued refusal to settle for mediocrity.
There were plenty of occasions in which it would have been perfectly acceptable for Henry to give up. At one point, paying the electric bill on time would have been a minor achievement. And given those circumstances, ascending to a life of mediocrity—simply being able to pay the bills—could have been perceived as a victory, given the circumstances.
However, Henry held on to the flashes of inspiration he’d had over a lifetime, and in doing so, he realized that within himself was a storehouse of potential. That potential—along with the dedication to grow—is what changed things.
Henry believes strongly in the idea that for many people, short-term circumstances are temporary. But long-term circumstances are simply a matter of what an individual is willing to tolerate. Henry wasn’t willing to tolerate his long-term circumstances. By leveraging his experience with digital marketing and turning it into a $10 million business, he was able to change his long-term circumstances for the better.
And it wouldn’t have happened if had ever accepted anything less, at any point along the road.
Now, Henry is sharing the secrets that helped make him a digital millionaire. Henry believes that these lessons can shorten the learning curve for anyone in Henry’s former shoes—anyone looking not to accept mediocrity in their own lives. For that reason, Henry is releasing Digital Millionaire Secrets.
As Henry says it, “All you need to figure out what you want to teach,” and with the right know-how and work ethic, any individual can become successful and profitable.
However, there’s one key element everyone needs to share: the inability to accept mediocrity. For Henry, that’s the difference that makes the difference for anyone looking to improve their lives.
