Set to grace theaters nationwide in August 2024, ‘THE FIRING SQUAD‘ stands as a highly-anticipated faith-based movie that promises to enthrall audiences with a stand-out story based on a true story.
So far early screenings have been packed and the response has been the strongest yet for Riverrain Studios. Epoch Studios is also a co-producer of the film.
Directed by the acclaimed Tim Chey, known for his previous works such as ‘Freedom’ and ‘The Islands,’ this film explores the gripping true story of former drug dealers who found redemption as pastors despite facing the daunting prospect of a firing squad in a third-world country.
One of the stars, Kevin Sorbo (“God’s Not Dead”, “Let There Be Light”) said recently of the film that no one is beyond redemption of the Cross and ‘The Firing Squad’ shows this.
The ensemble cast, comprising James Barrington, Madeline Anderson, Kevin Sorbo, Edmund Kwan, and Academy-Award winner Cuba Gooding, Jr., brings depth and authenticity to the characters, ensuring a moving and impactful cinematic experience.
Chey, an alumnus of Harvard and USC, expressed his heartfelt aspirations for the film, stating, “My hope and prayer is this film wins millions to Christ. The story is the perfect testament to gaining the whole world but losing your soul. Fortunately, these guys found Christ in the end in a stunning, tear-jerking way.”
With over 11,000 actors vying for roles in ‘The Firing Squad,’ the sheer magnitude of interest and enthusiasm surrounding this project is evident.
VGC Productions, the powerhouse behind the film, is confident in its potential impact. “Tim directed another home-run,” expressed the production company’s spokesperson. “We’re so proud of Tim and all the actors and crew and believe it will also hit a home-run for God at the theaters next year.”
To ensure widespread reach, the film company aims to raise $10-20 million in advertising funds, planning to showcase ‘THE FIRING SQUAD’ in 2,500 theaters nationwide.
