This weekend, Developer Coalition’s Gears 5 multiplayer tech test is returning on Xbox One and PC. It will be open to every Xbox Live Gold subscriber.
Its official name is The Gears 5 Versus Tech Test. It started last weekend with limiting itself to Xbox Game Pass members only. And especially to ones who had pre-ordered the game. But from 26th July, 6pm in the UK/10am PDT, everyone with an Xbox Live Gold subscription was able to fire up the test client and get held into Gears of War 5‘s new Bootcamp training mode and its theatrical Arcade mode.
The exclusive Wreath Bloodspray will be given to the one who completes a single match between 1.30am-2.30am in the UK/5.30pm-6.30pm PDT. Also the test will include access to an updated competitive game Escalation, King of the Hill mode and Tour of Duty which offers more rewards after the challenge completion.
Microsoft hasn’t yet specifies the length of the test in its announcement post but previously suggested that dates are 26th to 29th July. You can download the test client from the Microsoft Store by searching for Gears 5 Tech Test. Beware that servers won’t come online until 6pm in the UK/10am PDT. Also due to the nature of the server, test players may face some waiting period when they start a game.
