If your based in the South East of England, you may know of Ashton herself, or atleast the well known Decadence team and beautiful venue.
Ashton begun her beauty therapy journey back in 2008, taking several courses at one of the most prestigious London colleges. In 2010, Ashton set up her own freelance business, a one man band, doing what she did best – bridal and events make up. But where did it go from here? How did Ashton get to the level of popularity and take her make up skills into a medical sector?
Let’s take a little step by step from 2010 to present …
2010 – Ashton set up as a freelance artist, continuously enrolling on new courses and learning new tricks. Facebook was a free and brilliant way to get her name about, and so she set up several pages.
2012 – Ashton met an acquaintence that soon became a best friend and work partner. Forming the best of friendships, Sophie was a hairdresser, specializing in bridal hair and colour techniques.
The combination of the two became a large force around their areas.
2014 – Ashton set up a training academy, gaining her first teaching qualification (Level 4 PTLLS), which was required by the Guild of Beauty Therapists, for those wanting to accredit their own courses.
Ashton did just this, she created 3 initial course work books… holding classes at a well known gym chain.
Fast forward and Ashton fell well away from the commitment of her work and began to party – ending up quite frankly in a terrible place. Drugs and alcohol seemed like a way more appealing option, and continued to make some terrible mistakes, some may have seemed fun, but long term, nothing is worth jeopardizing for an expensive habit and a dangerous one at that.
There are several amazing sources that helped with Ashton’s recovery and whole new outlook on life, and it wasn’t an overnight turn around. One amazing therapist contributed to the change in Ashton’s outlook, with 50 minute counseling sessions
Fast forward to 2020 and even throughout a lock down – Ashton is one of the most reputable aesthetic practitioners in her area. Offering a wide range of training, cpd accredited, VTCT also coming soon, making these qualifications recognizable worldwide.
So that time line…
2018 – saw Ashton qualify as a recognized medical phlebotomis
2019 – Ashton qualified as an advanced practitioner, taking 7courses in total, from the first aesthetics qualification gained in 2018. Also completed and passed her DTLLS teaching qualification.
So where is Ashton now?
Ashton has worked hard to build the clientele base and the social media following that she now has… she is now on a completely different journey, a medical journey.
Why ? Why is this girl who started in beauty and make up, now looking to progress into a medical industry? Studying for her relevant courses and exams to complete the paramedic degree, Ashton not only wanted to insure that as a non medic, her aesthetic income would never be effected, but she also realized – anatomy is amazing, the human body is a machine so clever, it is unbelievable the way that it ticks by day in and day out so naturally. There is so much to go wrong and so much that usually goes right, that Ashton realized, this could be a long term passion, helping people and creating a better future for generations to come, and hope for anyone that goes through a bad chapter in life, or is constantly told that they cannot do something …. WRONG living proof, that you can turn your life around, you can ACHIEVE.
