The success entrepreneurs have created for themselves is a well discussed topic, but how many entrepreneurs do we know of or talk about who help others achieve similar goals to the same degree? Meet Jayla Thomas, a successful businesswoman leading by example, pouring into others her mentorship and guidance to help create financially independent and positive- minded entrepreneurs.
Jayla grew up in Dothan, Alabama. She attends the University of Alabama and is currently studying Psychology for Physiotherapy. Although Jayla is studying for a profession in helping people physically, she also prioritizes helping others mentally, guiding them towards finding the right mindset to achieve their own goals.
When discussing her keen desire for leadership through entrepreneurship, Jayla says:
“I wanted to be an entrepreneur not only because I don’t like working for anybody else, but because I’ve found in a lot of my jobs that I was unhappy personally with management. I feel like some people may not understand how to provide good leadership to ensure their employees feel supported and valued. So I always told myself, if I have my own business, I don’t want to be just somebody’s boss, I’d rather be their leader.”
Jayla found the opportunity to not only create success for herself as an entrepreneur but to lead others on the same path, through network marketing. Jayla was introduced to the concept through a friend and although she had her doubts at first, once she gave the opportunity a try she never looked back.
To date, Jayla has created her business “Capital Catchers”, involving over one hundred people she works with on a personal level.
“I work with individuals who are aspiring entrepreneurs and help them break unfavourable generational traditions and replace them with the path to generational wealth through the teaching of valuable skill sets,” says Jayla.
Under her mentorship and guidance aspiring entrepreneurs are given the tools they need to find themselves in a better situation on many different levels.
When discussing her passion for pouring herself into others, Jayla says:
“I’ve always known that whatever occupation I choose, I want to help people. Whether it’s physically, mentally, spiritually, whatever I can do.”
In addition to showing others financial opportunities, Jayla prioritizes leading them to overcome their perceived obstacles that are holding them back from charting their own path to success outside of the norm.
“I really want everybody to see that there’s more ways to obtain income than to just go to school. Now that people see that there are other ways to be successful, it can help them choose the best path for themselves, instead of settling for something because it’s the norm,” says Jayla.
Jayla herself, found the most growth and personal development from her experience in the military. Currently in the air force, Jayla shared the positives she has taken from her ongoing service:
“Being in the military, it made me uncomfortable, which has helped me in my business because I’ve learned that nothing about this business is comfortable. If you want to get to the next level, you have to do things that you’ve never done before to achieve success that you’ve never seen before.”
Every entrepreneur is met with barriers when starting a new business, but it is how those obstacles are tackled that truly reflects a person’s character. Having been through difficulties in building her own business, Jayla overcame them with a positive mindset in tact and is more than happy to share some tips that have been helpful for her in her own journey to success:
Set attainable & achievable goals. “Nothing about this opportunity is small, so it’s important to set goals for yourself that are possible so that way you can continue to work towards the bigger picture by accomplishing smaller tasks along the way.”
Stay level-headed. “Sometimes you have to decompress everything that’s going on in your head, so you can just stay focused. Allowing your emotions to get in the way of your decision-making can really hinder your progress.”
Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. “You have to stay uncomfortable in this business because anything can come your way and sometimes you may not be prepared for it. You just have to stay ready for it, whatever it may be. Outside of your comfort zone is where your true growth and potential lies.”
Give back. “Pour into others the way you want to be poured into – this was very big for me.”
Jayla continues to work tirelessly to build her business and ensure she has time to personally provide guidance and support for her team. WIth her business steadily growing, Jayla has been able to achieve a major milestone – helping her family financially.
“A moment that changed everything for me was when my entire family joined my business. So I trade, my sister trades, my mom trades and my dad trades. I brought them into a space where they could get a look at what I do day in and day out. And now they’ve fallen in love with the opportunity as well. It really just changed the game for me because I always said I wanted to retire my parents, but now it’s not me doing it myself – I’ve given them the tools they need to do it for themselves, which is a really rewarding experience,” says Jayla.
Now that Jayla has led her family and countless others to entrepreneurship, she hopes to continue this journey, touching the lives of as many as possible on their financial and spiritual journeys to success.
