What started out as a newfound love for photography eventually turned out to be a stepping stone for Emilio Bernot, who is a well-known TikTok sensation. While he loves uploading interesting content to cater to his 900,000 followers on the social media platform, he discovered that he has a keen eye for creating music videos that have attracted several artists such as Paul Wall, Fredo Bang, and Slim Thug.
Emilio Bernot’s mother sent him to a photography class when he joined Fusion Academy at the age of 15. After a few weeks, he began to love photography as an art form as it gives one the ability to change the subject’s look from sunny to mysterious, and from dark to perky. In the same year, his friend got a camera so they could do photoshoots of local influencers. In the process of connecting with them, they met rapper Scotty McThottie. McThottie later revealed to Bernot that he was more interested in making a music video to promote his projects.
While he was hesitant to accept the challenge of creating a music video for McThottie at first, Bernot eventually went for it. His innate creativity and originality came to life, and he started to have fun working on it. He soon discovered that he could do a business out of directing music videos for artists.
“Other directors I’ve had experiences with make most of the decision and act like the boss. When an artist wants me to make him a video, he is my boss. He is paying me to make this video so I work him, not him for me. Whatever the artist wants the video to look like is how I’ll make it,” reveals Bernot.
Bernot’s social media journey started on Instagram at 14 years old, where he uploaded several skits he came up with. Unfortunately, it did not work out well for him as he only had 250 followers on the platform. At 16, he started doing uncommon video content that included doing crazy antics such as breaking watermelons in Walmart or getting behind a McDonald’s counter to serve his own food. He was not very happy about those videos and would rather forget they ever happened.
When he reached 16, he came across TikTok and realized that he did not need followers in order to get views. All that is needed is an engaging video content that will keep people interested. Up to this day, Bernot spends most of his waking hours contemplating on types of video content that he can produce for his TikTok account.
His dedication to his projects and personal video content is inspired by the life of a well-known industrial designer, engineer, and philanthropist Elon Musk. He admires how Musk managed to make something of himself despite having come from nothing while growing up in Africa. Musk dreamed of making civilian space travel possible, and this is exactly what he is working on right now. Bernot realized that dreams do come true when one takes heart to do whatever it takes to see them come to pass.
While he is relatively new at what he is doing now, Emilio Bernot still sees a lot of potential for his personal brand in the coming months. For one, he is gearing up to come up with his own YouTube channel. He is also open to the possibility of trying out acting someday if the opportunity arises. Overall, he is open to trying out new things to build his brand and business.
