Do you believe that we create our own destiny? For Mike Pirtle, a serial entrepreneur, the answer is an emphatic YES! From service in the military to service in Silicon Valley, Mike is a man who puts his heart, passion, and dedication in everything that he does. That passion has manifested itself in a beautiful marriage, a growing family and the establishment of multiple successful businesses over the past decade. The journey to his current position is one that is predicated on a dedication to excellence.

As a former satellite communication technician in the Air Force, he secured multiple honors and early promotions during his tour of duty. In 2014, he took a big leap of faith and went full time in managing the Intellectual Property company, Enthrall, with the goal to help brands impress their audiences utilizing various branding strategies. He did not just stop there and continued to embark on other business ventures.

The self dubbed “Serial CEO”, currently, he owns a portfolio of brands, including MonaVation General Contractors, a general contracting company serving the greater Indianapolis area. Together with his partner and wife, La-Tisha Pirtle, they focus on providing quality commercial and residential construction services to their clients.

MonaVation came from humble and promising beginnings. As a matter of fact, it started out as an insurance restoration business managed by La-Tisha’s parents. She eventually continued and named it after her mother Mona, the matriarchal figure of the Plummer household. During its infancy, the company became inactive for almost a year due to complications with Mona’s health. La-Tisha decided to put the business on hold and prioritized her mother’s recuperation. Fortunately, Mona made a complete recovery. Once La-Tisha saw her mother regain her strength, she knew it was time to go full throttle with MonaVation’s growth.

In 2016, Mike moved to San Francisco to gain insight on tech and venture capital, and La-Tisha began accepting major clients in Indianapolis. Their businesses blossomed and continued to capture a positive position in both markets. Culminating in the Silicon Valley Brand House incubator, a three month residential entrepreneurship program based in their condo in Daly City, CA.

Despite being a heavily male-dominated industry, Mike knew from the start that La-Tisha was ready to take on the challenge of managing MonaVation. La-Tisha shared the same sentiments with her husband. “In a male-dominated industry where the work can be hard, fast, dirty and a bit intimidating, we love bringing a level of comfort, compassion, and servant leadership to how our customers and staff experience the world of construction,” she said. For her, construction careers aren’t limited only to men.

Not only that, but MonaVation has also partnered with a faith-based organization in Indianapolis to support its labor force. La-Tisha and her company help people who experienced homelessness, addiction, or imprisonment get back on their feet.  Through this ground-breaking partnership, she gives these individuals a second chance to re-establish themselves in the community.

La-Tisha believes that construction is an exciting and ever-changing industry. It is not only rebuilding someone’s home or business, but it is also about rebuilding people’s lives. She is doing what she loves best, and that is meeting people’s needs. She finds personal pride in everything she has accomplished in the field of construction and most importantly: look forward to what’s next.
