While there may be many fitness trainers in the industry today, not everyone is equipped with the academic and fundamental health backgrounds to truly help individuals who want to change their lives for the better. Luke Wade aids clients in achieving their fitness goals, combined with his knowledge in psychology and nutrition.
Luke caters to clients internationally. Currently based in Fort Worth, Texas, he is currently one of the most trusted fitness consultants helping many clients make the most in their fitness journey. Luke’s approach separates him from the rest of the pack as he enhances his clients’ physical selves and strengthens their psyche. He addresses issues in fine-tuning dietary interventions and aids clients in their post-rehab journey and recovering from injury.
Besides his expertise, Luke is one of the few who genuinely empathizes with his clients because he has been through many challenges to be who he is today. In 6th grade, Luke sought comfort in hearty meals because he was having difficulty adjusting to a change in environment, from public school to private school. He gained the extra pounds in a matter of months and experienced bullying from his peers because of his weight.
Luke was ridiculed for his looks, a challenging journey to undertake at 12 years of age. Thankfully, his sport-loving older brother inspired him to take action in changing his shape. He went through summer strength and conditioning camp, a program developed for high school athletes. And so, being in the camp required a strength that he thought was not possible. Still, Luke got through it, nearly slicing his 6th grade mile time in half by 7th grade.
But like all journeys, Luke went through a few more failures after his success. After playing at the second varsity football game his sophomore year, Luke suffered an elbow injury, shattering his confidence and drawing deeper into depression, anxiety, and self-isolation. He suffered one blow after another. “It was like being attacked on all sides,” Luke recalled.
Fitness was one aspect of his life that remained constant. He got back up on his feet and persevered to overcome all odds, topping the varsity quarterback and ace wide receiver of his junior class in athletic testing the next year. “Both went on to play Division 1 college football. So it was surreal that I could look up at that gym leader board then and see my name there. And know that I did everything within my power to get up there. That I belonged up there.”
All of these experiences inspired Luke to impact people’s lives as a personal trainer. He hustled and served several roles in personal training and was overwhelmed by his clients’ trust. “The fact that so many people, who I’d never met before our consultations, trusted me to be part of their health journey was beyond anything I can put into words,” said Luke.
After building his brand from the ground up, the pandemic posed another challenge for Luke. More than half of his clients felt uncomfortable training online, so he was drawn to exploring other means of making a living. Luke discovered social media and can now simultaneously monetize his skills while making a difference in people’s lives. Additionally, the pandemic allowed him to co-author an Amazon best-selling ebook.
“I am an underdog. I was the new kid; the ‘fat’ kid. The middle child who felt invisible. The gangly bracefaced underclassman with an atrocious haircut. The early 20s entrepreneur who lost big. The PT school dropout,” Luke remarked. Still, he stayed determined through his adversities and is now a living testament that everyone is capable, worthy, and can always overcome.
