What do sneakers and music have in common? Well, a lot actually! But up until recently that confluence hasn’t been more apparent than with SBCollector. Having made a name for himself in the fast paced world of sneaker resale, Chris Robinson’s ambitions lie outside of just hawking the creativity of others. His goal is to make you feel something, and in my book, he’s done it.
His music offering, which includes tracks like Undercut and Masterpiece, is one of those rare first time sets that blows you away. A hip hop style with forward thinking beats and a sound rooted in history. His rich and textured sounds harken back to a time when analog was king. And that’s not any accident, Robinson uses mostly analog equipment he’s been collecting for a decade.
“Music has always driven and inspired me, and it took this pandemic for me to really put pen to paper and make something.” Robinson describes his journey from big shot shoe collector to big shot recording artist. “I just want people to feel something when they listen to my tracks, and I’m humbled at the positive response I’ve had so far.”
