The famous adage two heads are better than one is especially applicable to the mother-and-daughter tandem behind Dream Face Art, a family-owned entertainment business that specializes in face painting, temporary tattoos, balloon art, and balloon decorations for special occasions. Dubeysha Costas partners with her highly creative daughter Alexia to come up with exceptional and impressive face paint designs for parties, corporate events, and special social gatherings. The two are a formidable team that is hard to match in a very competitive industry, taking Dream Face Art to the next level.
Dubeysha and Alexia’s business venture started unexpectedly. Dubeysha came across a Face and Body Art International Convention website while searching for art classes for her daughter. Amazed at the showcase of talents and artistry, the two decided to fly to Orlando and join the annual convention. FABAIC was a unique turning point for both of them as it ignited bright ideas within them and excitement they have not experienced before. Deciding to make it a full-time business is one of the most important things that happened to their family.
“Creativity isn’t solely found in the subject of art, it is found in analogous artistic forms, more importantly found in even that which isn’t considered to be art. Any subject with the force of creativity behind it can merge to create a work of substance and duality,” the Costases reveal.
Interestingly, Alexia has taken her passion for face and body painting to the next level by winning the face and body art 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2015 awards at the FABAIC. She has competed against contenders from other countries and has added so much value to their family business through her exemplary performance. Some years after the mother-and-daughter duo started their business, Mr. Costas decided to come on board and focus on intricate balloon twist sculptures that are perfect for any kind of party.
“We believe art brings people together, art speaks a universal language through evoked emotions and concepts that merge onto vivid imagery. Dream Face Art believes that life imitates art and vice versa. During these unprecedented times, we instill the knowledge that no matter what obstacle life can surprise us with we are ready to get back on our feet and transcend to that which will be eternal,” the Costases share.
After more than a decade in the entertainment industry, the Costases look forward to growing Dream Face Art by doing collaborations with the creatives, brands, and companies who are connected in their line of expertise. They also envision traveling around the world to build their network of emerging creatives who think out of the box. At this point, Dubeysha and Alexia are nothing but eager and determined to take on even bigger challenges when it comes to face and body art by joining international art competitions. Additionally, the business also intends to empower other artists by allowing them to showcase their talents on the platform.
As Dream Face Art continues to grow in the coming years, the Costases can only hope that they can inspire other creatives to pursue their passion for art without hesitation. Just as they found success in their niche, they hope to empower other people to discover their special artistic gifts and share them with the world.
