Though iconic singer and dancer, Michael Jackson died in 2009, few things belonging to him are still reminding people about him. A pair of custom socks belonging to Michael Jackson is under auction. Michael had worn this pair of custom socks forty years ago when he performed his signature moonwalk for the first time on stage.
An online auction site named Gotta Have Rock and Roll is offering the socks. These socks would not be easy to purchase for the buyers. The website has estimated their price to rise up to $2 Million.
The bid for the socks has started at $100,000 on November 13, 2019. Apart from the custom made crystal socks, there are many other items belonging to Jackson that are put up in the online auction. Jackson’s suit of lights, which is from his victory tour, is also available in the auction. This suit is expected to sell up to $20,000. There is also a Chicago Bulls jersey in the auction which was signed by Jackson and Michael Jordan together.
The main agenda behind this auction is to eradicate the controversial legacy connected with Jackson. Last year, HBO had released a documentary based on Jackson which shows the sexual abuse controversy of the singer. When Jackson was alive, these allegations were not proved on him. Hence the family of Jackson has filed a lawsuit against HBD for misleading Jackson’s fans. This auction is related to the controversial life events of Jackson.
