For Joy Fugghett, a 27 year old businesswoman, trader and mentor – entrepreneurship and making an impact go hand in hand. Reaching our own biggest goals can be difficult as it is, but for Joy, she’s not satisfied until the financial goals of the aspiring entrepreneurs she surrounds herself with have been achieved. Today, Joy shares her story of seizing opportunities, growing and thriving in business, and navigating the choppy waters of entrepreneurship to reach financial freedom.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Joy spent the first half of her childhood in Los Angeles. Her first employment working at a call centre left her less than thrilled with the life of 9-5 employment and eager to see what other possibilities were out there to earn a living. Joy went to Tennessee State University for two and a half years where she studied Music Education and found a true passion and appreciation for the culture of inclusivity and diversity amongst the like-minded individuals she met during her time at school.
“Going to University to study music education was honestly one of the best decisions I made. Just being around other people my age that looked like me and seeing that we’re all working towards reaching the same goal or trying to acquire the same things. You kind of learn that no matter where people are from in the country, we all grew up in the same house in a sense – we share so many similar experiences with family and just life in general,” says Joy.
Never one to take the traditional route, Joy says that when given a new opportunity, especially one that can put her in a better position by doing something different, she seizes it. So when Joy was given the chance to learn more about network marketing and entrepreneurship, after doing her due diligence, Joy went all in working tirelessly to build a business from the ground up centred around helping individuals gain the financial means to fund their passions through trading in the financial markets and starting their own business.
To date, Joy’s business called House of Impact has grown substantially with a team of individuals working collectively under her mentorship, gaining valuable insight into investing and beginning their own journeys of entrepreneurship.
When discussing the concept of House of Impact, Joy says:
“I essentially put people in the positions that they want to be in financially. So if you want to retire, if you want additional income to fund a different business venture or hobby or lifestyle, if you just want to make money on the side – whatever your financial goals are, I’m just here to help you accomplish those.”
Working in a people-based industry where strong leadership skills are crucial to success, Joy says the key is finding the balance between achieving your own goals and helping your team achieve theirs.
“I think the biggest barrier in this type of industry is becoming completely selfless in your work. You have so many people you’re mentoring and genuinely trying to help succeed, but you also have your own goals and vision too. It’s important to find a balance between making sure that you’re okay, but also being responsible for your team. Once you realize that what you’re doing is bigger than you and you develop that mindset that by helping others achieve what they want, you’re also getting exactly what you want, it becomes easier,” says Joy.
Keeping a structured routine has been pivotal in helping Joy stay on track in growing her business and keeping up with the needs of her team, ensuring everyone is getting the time and tools required to reach their own next levels.
Reaching her goal of 7 figure earnings was a huge milestone for Joy, but she’s far from finished. Multi-7 figures is the next goal to accomplish and is well within Joy’s horizon. She says that to continue smashing through her obstacles to reach her next achievement, she remains focused on the bigger picture and her vision for her future and that of her team and business.
There’s no doubt we can expect to see more great things from Joy as she continues to rise to the top and guide even more businessmen and women entering the entrepreneurial world to success with Joy as their mentor and inspiration.
