South Korean cellular carrier company, LG Uplus, which is owned by LG Corporation, is taking services of Altibase for making a hybrid architecture of real-time and reliable billing services. LG Uplus is one of the largest telecommunication companies in South Korea. Apart from LG Uplus, China Telecom, China Unicom, China Mobile, KT, and SK Telecom are also enjoying the Altibase’s integrated billing architecture.
LG Uplus was launched when there were 2G services in use, and the company faced many problems, such as the inability to effectively integrate billing for different services and policies. It was also incapable of checking customers’ billing balances, and the customer was not receiving the correct balance information. There were many such problems that LG Uplus was experiencing. In 2011, the company adopted Altibase for its hybrid architecture into its next-generation integrated billing solution.
Since 2011, Altibase has brought a lot of improvements to LG Uplus’ billing procedures. Altibase has helped LG Uplus to increase multi-level performance to allow further scale and development of complex services. LG Uplus is also taking full advantage of Altibase’s hybrid architecture by storing cold data on disk. It is now efficiently offering cellular service in South Korea due to the help of Altibase.
