Marshall Sandman’s professional resume is impressive for his age. He graduated from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, worked as an investment banker for Goldman Sachs and JEGI, and spent time as the Director of Strategy at WarnerMedia. Even with all of his early accomplishments, he’s most proud of the entrepreneurial ventures he’s currently working on.
Marshall was inspired to pursue entrepreneurship to achieve one goal, innovate the connection between consumers and media fans. Being able to tell stories that connect with people and make them feel something has been his dream, and now he gets to make money for his favorite cause by doing so. Marshall is the host of an IG Live show called What to Do with Marshall. Marshall has been able to interview some incredible celebrities and influencers on the show, including Jerry Ferrara from the hit show Entourage.
Marshall started the show to not only connect with his audience, but to serve his local community. The show is sponsored by Talenti Gelato, and all of the proceeds from the show go towards helping at risk kids in New York City through a nonprofit organization called Harlem Grown. Time and resources have gone to providing meals to children who are kept out of school due to COVID-19. He’s been able to raise around $50,000 through the show, and Marshall already has a second season planned for early 2021.
With a supportive family and girlfriend, Marshall has been able to find tremendous success as an entrepreneur. When he left his position at WarnerMedia, he had to start from scratch to build a brand for himself and his show. His work ethic shone through, and he did so much organic outreach to comedians, actors and influencers that his show quickly had a stacked lineup of episodes planned. From there, the rest has been history as Marshall has been able to move his career forward and make a tremendous impact in his local community at the same time.
Marshall has simple advice for anyone just starting out: Keep going. There are no shortcuts to success when building a brand or growing a business, and relentless optimism will be what gets you through to the other side. Once Marshall realized this for himself, he put his head down and worked his tail off until he became successful. Safe to say that it’s worked out so far.
