The word ‘struggling’ comes to mind as quickly as one can think about starting something independently. Throughout history, people have associated the terminologies- struggling and entrepreneurship together. If one dreams of creating something of their own, they certainly need to work for it. Be it now or years later, success prevails, entitling them as successful entrepreneurs. Chris Sharp is one such entrepreneur who believes in giving back to the world with his products and services.
The Journey of Bringing His Dreams to Life
Brought into the world on November 14, 1970, Chris Sharp is a Canadian by birth. Since a young kid, Chris was destined to work, and his innovative attitude towards life constantly reformed his personality. As a child, he would offer strawberries or anything little to bring in cash. These childhood experiences and choices reinforced the establishment of a sequential business person. Each time Chris would venture out to sell something, it would be diverse from what he sold beforehand. This created a model for Chris’ future endeavors. Today, he is an industry-driving business visionary, zeroed in on the development and commercialization of cutting-edge regenerative biologics. In 2006, Chris moved from Toronto to Southern California. His explanation of moving places with his significant other, Jennifer, was to seek after his desire to become an entrepreneur of his own biotech company. He utilized his abilities in turning into an industry-evolving trailblazer after completing his education. Chris completed his MBA in Finance and Marketing from the EU Business School, Barcelona. He additionally holds a BA degree in Marketing from Carleton University. After pursuing his education, Chris worked with a venture capital company focused on regeneration sciences and technologies. The work typically included locating early-stage products, incubating, financing, and ultimately commercializing these respective technologies. After being instrumental in launching two companies, Chris was then privileged to work with a company in Los Angeles. This company had 25 PhDs working on sterilizing recombinant and other biological products, vaccines, and tissue therapeutics. Chris was in charge of the North American division, commercializing biologic sterilization technology.
Working for and growing different biotech companies helped Chris gain significant experience, ultimately sparking the desire, interest, and courage to start his own biotech company. Chris then established Osprey Biomedical and then Skye Biologics, aiming to get into full-body biologics. He knew how the value of becoming a manufacturer in the healthcare business would work for his business and human health. So, he established Skye Biologics Holdings, zeroing in on biotechnology focused on the human body’s ability to repair itself and reprogram a patient’s biology response. The field of biotechnology includes fostering new advancements from living cells, systems, and organisms. These new tools, in the end, assist biotechnologists in completing and applying their research clinically. Aside from research, the produced tools serve helpful in agriculture, industry, and clinic as well.
From this broad discipline, Chris’ vision was to specialize in helping people by saddling the force of human science. At Skye Biologics, the group goes through all important cycles with the future aim of treating patients experiencing various states and causes of a degenerative disease, harmed tissue, injury or damage. Being a business visionary, Chris mirrors his viewpoint and places his enthusiasm in understanding that the human body loses its capacity to naturally remodel and repair after an expected physical issue or harm. Skye Biologics have thus moved the game forward by finding potential solutions through biotechnology, rather than depending on the human body’s natural recovery process.
Chris’ organization ensures its methodology is legitimized. Skye biologics provides surgical and non-surgical solutions to assit the human body to potentially repair itself. They provide solutions to orthopedics, spine, sports medicine, chronic and complex wounds, plastic surgery, urology, gynecology, and general surgery. Designated treatments in Skye’s clinical pipeline have the real potential of helping 50 million patients each year. Chris’ vision has therefore accomplished a benchmark in the business. Over the course of the last eleven years, the organization has helped nearly 500,000 patients with its first generation tissue allograft implants. Chris has endeavored to set up his undertaking as one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies in this space.
Chris’ Other Initiatives
Chris has always been enthusiastic about learning and contributing to his endeavors in the healthcare sector. Along with human health, Chris is also passionate about endangered marine life. He has been involved with critical ocean initiatives such as the Sea Shepherd Organization. Alongside Skye Biologics, Chris and his family procured a decommissioned US Coast Guard Cutter in 2017. The principal point behind this acquisition was to secure marine lives. After the vessel was procured and significantly updated, it was given to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and the name, ‘M/V Sharpie.’ This fortified the foundation of what the Sharp family envisions for protecting ocean lives. The initiative revolves around saving marine lives, similarly as Skye Biologics endeavors to protect living souls through trend-setting innovation.
In 2019, the Sharpie was seen in Leonardo DiCaprio’s narrative, ‘Sea of Shadows.’ The documentary went on to win ‘best documentary’ at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. Before the documentary began filming, the Sharpie had been part of the vaquita porpoise mission since mid-2018. Sea Shepherd banded together with Mexican authorities and figured out how to eliminate more than 1,000 illegal gillnets from governmentally protected UNESCO-perceived regions, saving the existence of more than 4000 creatures thus far.
As a result of the powerful impact that ‘Sea of Shadows’ was able to produce, Chris and his wife, Jennifer, began to explore additional projects that could benefit from this form of media. Thus, the two thought of another initiative called ‘Muskoka Productions.’ With two valuable drives and a mission to achieve a significant change on the planet, Chris has set a model for his life. With 15 years of entrepreneurial accomplishments, this ‘sequential business visionary’ will never let go of bringing his dreams to reality.
