Being a performer is one thing, but understanding the industry in which one works becomes the stepping stone to moving into the business of music. Kyy Stacks, a singer-songwriter and rapper from South Bronx, NY, has learned much over her successful, yet young career.
She was able to give some insights during an interview saying, “To be a successful entrepreneur, you need to have an intense work ethic and a drive to see yourself succeed. You need to be willing to do the hard work yourself when others won’t do it, and you need to network by creating real connections with people.” This drive is evident in her work with her breakout single “No Talking” and the anticipation for her upcoming EP and single “No Keyz.”
Finally, Kyy Stacks gave some advice to other young entrepreneurs by encouraging them “to surround themself with trustworthy people and create a team that fully supports you.” Trust has been a key to Kyy’s success, and she states, “I think that honesty is the first place to start building trust, and I am always professional with my business relationships to ensure my client’s trust. I also think that by building my fan base organically, I’ve been able to create real relationships with people in the industry.” This knowledge will be essential in furthering her music dreams as well as her hope to start a record label to help other up and coming artists.
