Some of the world’s most successful people started underprivileged and broke. Frequently, their rags to riches stories inspire the rest of the world never to stop trying to achieve dreams and goals.
Entrepreneur Anthony “Money Shi” Beverley is a perfect testament to this. He showed the world that through determination and grit, anyone could overcome reduced circumstances and achieve extraordinary success. Beverley grew up in the Mill Creek Projects in West Philadelphia.
His childhood was rough, which exposed him to a lot of misfortunes at a very young age. He was used to living his life rapidly and dangerously, having experienced getting shot in the back of the head and getting kidnapped while living the street life. Instead of breaking his spirit, these events led him to practice patience, take a step back, and analyze situations properly.
The entrepreneur then started to slow down and evaluate his life. He decided to learn how to work smarter and not harder. Mixing working smart to working hard has been his recipe for balance in achieving success. His grandfather greatly influenced him to take the entrepreneurial route. He used to tag alongside his real-estate focused grandfather and found a penchant for joining the industry himself.
A few years ago, Beverley finally partnered up with his godfather. Joe Williams, who was a doctor, turned developer, to practice and hone his skills more. He kept networking every day to improve communication with others and educated himself more about real estate.
As his knowledge about how to handle a business grew, Beverley then took to re-examining his life. He gave up all the things he had that weren’t earned with hard work to refocus on the things that truly matter. This decision led to him leaving his life as a champion street bike racer to fully concentrate on property development and the building of his home health care agency.
Later on, Beverley’s partnership with Dr. Joe Williams gave way to the creation of Artisan Town Homes. They successfully transformed several blocks of 1400 Bainbridge, Pemberton, and Kater Streets through the construction of thirty-three high-end and ultra-contemporary houses. Including the collection of land, demolition of the old houses, and building from the ground up, it took twelve years to finally finish the properties. The townhomes sold for $900,000-$1.7 million each.
Beverley also expanded his real estate projects to include the region’s public research university. Currently, they are working on designing and building 400 one-bedroom and two-bedroom modular units, which includes a parking space for the students, faculty, and staff. The entrepreneur is looking forward to being able to allocate almost 900 jobs to an area with a high unemployment rate. He takes this as a way of helping people earn income and generate revenue within the community.
Aside from making a name through selling over a hundred homes in the Philly area, Beverley is also known through a promotional company and lifestyle brand, The Money Team. It is connected to boxing champion Floyd Mayweather.
Beverley now lives as a devout Christian and focuses on developing himself every day, as well as surrounding himself with people who have the same principles. He has his wife, who gives him unconditional love and balance and who helps with the structuring within their companies. And he has his mother, Wanda Beverley, who raised him to always believe in his dreams, to respect and love his neighbors, and to always love his family as well.
Beverley also feeds the less fortunate and disabled children in Africa and India through The Garden of Life Children in India, which is a Christian-based ministry for the less fortunate. He also gives back to the less fortunate families during this pandemic in cities throughout the USA and the inner city children in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Giving back puts a smile on his face and heart.
With his guidance, all his employees are now motivated to become business owners and build portfolios of assets that build wealth for their future generations. For Beverley’s employees, he is more than just an employer, he is family.
